On today's episode, Eugene woke up at 10 and had steak pie plus cereal for breakfast and planned to head to town. He thought to himself,
Eugene: Should i take the bus or take the bike?
Eugene 2: The last time you took the bus, the lady denied you entry remember claiming
you were late although the bus was still halfway out of the terminal and still stuck in
traffic, plus, you waited an hour aimlessly for the
ghost bus and walked home instead
taking another hour.
Eugene: Your right, i should bike and exercise, it's been a long time since i stretch those
hybernating sweet looking muscles. Time to........flex ya!
Eugene 2: The tyres are deflated, might wanna go to BP station and pump it up.
Eugene: Alrighty
And so the journey began for Eugene, cycling down from Munro Hill along Tennent Drive crossing the bridge and into BP station on half pump tyres. As he approached the air hose he said
Eugene: What????Not for bicycles??? You gotta be kidding me. I need this right now. No way
am i taking orders from some sign.
He unwrapped the hose from the hangers and pull them to the side of the station, avoiding any eye-contact between any staff and pump his tyres up. It took him an agonizing 10 minutes getting his palms black as well in the process but it was all worth.
Eugene: Ah, all done (smiley face), let's get GOING.
Eugene proceeded along Fitzherbert Avenue towards town.
Eugene: Wah, so quiet, and so chilly, i shudda wore jacket instead of vest. Man, brrrrrr, the wind
is not helping.
He pulled up along Pak and Save and parked his bike to start his journey in town. First he went to the post office to post a package to his baby who is back home. Ahem, we can skip the $$$ talk. His eyes was swayed away by some magnificent looking calendars for 2007 of New Zealand sceneries. It was on half price! Without hesitation he grabbed one booklet, cost NZD 5. Not bad not bad at all. Good job Eugene.
Eugene: okie dokie, now to the library, but first, the park. Gotta get rid of all this bread.
As an animal-lover and environmentalist, he did not want to toss away useful expired bread (still fresh) and so he sat in the middle of the park and began to tear up pieces of bread and collect them on his lap. From a distance, a group of ducks spotted the ongoing temptation and began running towards Eugene like there was no tomorrow. Eugene? Are you seducing them?
Within minutes, he finished tearing breads into pieces and threw them up in the air. The ducks who were like gamesmen on "The Survivor" rushed to every landing bread they can get their beaks on. Boy were they greedy and noisy.
Eugene: I gotta get outta here before they eat me.
He then happily strolled across the park, crossing the once "Big Ben" of Palmerston North which was now lying on the floor undergoing months of what seems like to be never-ever-complete renovation work. As he crossed the road and onto the "kaki-lima" (been wanting to use that a long time already) he proceed to the city library.
There read a notice,
Jan 1 CLOSED
Jan 2 CLOSED
Jan 3 8pm-3pm
Eugene: NOoooooooooooooooOOOOOOooooOOoOOoOOoOoOoO
Why......lazy ********. Where next. Oh well, Davis Trading. They might have some new
products.
Davis Trading was an Asian grocery shop. As Eugene reached the shop, which was across the across the square, just behind the library, there read a similiar notice.
Eugene: Fwhat?????? Zis is propostrous! Viu can't zo zis to mua!
Dejected, Eugene had only one stop left, weekly groceries. which means, back to Pak and save. En route to Pak and Save, he stopped by Downtown Plaza to buy a packet of sushi for lunch. A treat.....for a well-managed December spendings. Hee Hee Hee. Good on you.!
The thought of cathcing a movie crossed Eugene's mind. He took the escalator to the cinema on the 1st floor and walked around in circles and in 1 minute he walked back down. Don't know why, but apparently he thought the idea of watching a movie alone isn't so wise. So he went.....finally to Pak and Save where they go, "Whatever we do, we save you money and time".
Yea yea, still, the Pak Choy, eggs, meat and bakeries there were as roof-tall compared to countdown, Woolworths and New World. At least those 3 supermarkets give free plastic bag. Eugene grabbed chicken shnitzels, melluns, onions, cabbages, strawberries, milk, bread, carrots and eggs. As usual per week, his grocery shopping tops $40.
Eugene: I really hope all this can fit into my bag.
10 minutes later
Eugene: No no no, whyeeeee! So many things, how to carry back now. Urghhhhhhhhh. Aiyaaaaa
Poor kid, lesson learned. Nex time, bring a friend!! Hahahahahahahahhahahaha. Anyway, with his quick problem solving skills (wahahahahaha), Eugene walked to the bus stop and waited there for the bus. Quite rightly, the bus came. Woot woot. Hurray. Wow, what a luck. He went back to offload his stuff in his hall and took another bus to town to collect his bike back. Well, actually not really his bike. Hehe, and so when he reached town, he went to Harvey Norman to check out the external harddisk price.
Eugene: wow wow wee! lim pei lau pi huek arrr! si be kui! NZD369.99 for 80GB.
With absolutely no interest left, he dashed out and while walking to his bicycle park, he saw starbucks.
Eugene: Should i should i not...Hmmmmmm.....ah well, i deserved it. Slurpppppppp!!!!
Ahhhh, yummy frapucinno coffee. Ce café est impressionnant.
And then he biked home without encountering much trouble. Grogggggggggg. Someone's calling Eugene
Eugene: Ooooo, dinner time. Ah-maze-ing! Eggs i remember to buy, rice forgot! Haiyoyo!
That was his nature. To remember to flush the toilet but forgetting to close the door. Oh wait, what's this???
Eugene: Luckily i have some rice left in the rice cooker and enough in the bag for 2 more days.
Not so dumb after all, good boy. Dinner came with fried rice mixed with soy sauce and sweet/sour sauce and spinach. Oh yeah it taste real good. Cooked with passion and love. Who wouldnt like it???? (hahahahahahahha)
That ends the day of massive incompetence. Eugene carries on usual. Find out next week, on more, "Life with Eugene". Thank you and good night!
PS: Liverpool won, yahooo!!!
